WHAT IS THE SOCIETY?
Founded in 1957, the Catalan Society of Occupational Safety and Health is a professional association that aims to promote, develop and disseminate scientific information - and its practical applications- on Industrial Safety and Hygiene, Ergonomics, Psychosociology, Occupational Medicine and any other discipline related to the health of people at work and the fight against occupational risks (in accordance with the 1st article of its Statutes).

WHAT DOES THE SOCIETY DO?
Since its foundation, the Catalan Society of Occupational Safety and Health has participated in national and international conferences, meetings and training seminars for Occupational Health professionals. In 1963 it began publishing a scientific journal: "Medicina de Empresa" (Occupational Medicine), which in 1997 was modified and renamed "Archivos de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales" ("Archives of Prevention of Occupational Risks"). The Society keeps contact with Health and Work Authorities, Trade Unions and business organizations, and participates in legislative processes, at the request of Authorities, in the regulation of the prevention of occupational risks. The Society organizes continuous training activities and calls for a yearly Scientific Award on Occupational Health.
